Thursday, 13 October saw the first of the Vale’s competitions this season. The style was
different from previous competitions in that the judge was invited to critique each image
in their own way without allocating numerical points. The idea of this was to allow a fuller
and more positive critique without having to ‘nitpick’ to find a score. Mike Clatworthy was
the judge and he fulfilled his remit well. The following images were rated as ‘Highly
Commended’ by Mike, who also mentioned several ‘runners up’.
Colour Prints
Goldfinch by Mike Craddock, and Putin’s Revenge by Mike Davies
Mono prints
Abandoned Memories by Mike Davies and The Commando by Nick Craddock
Digital
Common Field Grasshopper by Mike Davies and Path by Guy Butler-Madden
Well done to all those who entered!
